AIelsen Learning and Evaluation License 1.0
License identifier: LicenseRef-AIelsen-Learning-Evaluation-1.0
Effective date: 2026-10-10

Copyright (c) 2026 the AIelsen project copyright holders.

This is a source-available license, not an OSI-approved open-source license.
It deliberately limits production and commercial reuse. By exercising the
permissions below, you accept these terms. Rights otherwise available under
applicable law, including quotation, fair use and fair dealing, are unaffected.

1. Materials and parties

"Materials" means the original software, course materials, diagrams, templates,
documentation and other original works in this repository to which the relevant
copyright holder ("Licensor") applies this license. "You" means the individual
or organization exercising these permissions. Third-party works are excluded
as explained in section 5. Each contributor licenses only rights they own or
are authorized to license; no transfer of copyright ownership is implied.

2. Limited permission

Subject to these terms, Licensor grants You a worldwide, non-exclusive,
royalty-free copyright license to access, copy, run, study and modify the
Materials solely for:

(a) personal learning and noncommercial research;
(b) learning and training within Your organization for its own personnel,
including a commercial organization's salaried personnel; and
(c) non-production evaluation, prototyping, testing and security research.

Internal learning may use an access-controlled internal learning environment.
Evaluation must be isolated from operational systems and must not perform real
customer work, process live business transactions, or supply outputs relied
upon for operational decisions. Use synthetic or properly de-identified test
data, and comply with all applicable data and privacy obligations.

You may share unmodified copies or Your modifications without charge for the
permitted learning, research and evaluation purposes, including public source
forks and noncommercial educational demonstrations. Such sharing must comply
with section 4 and must not be a paid offering, commercial client deliverable,
or a marketing/sales service for Your business. The narrow corporate internal
learning permission above is not a general commercial-use permission.

Reading or linking to the Licensor's public website, discussing this project,
and accurately citing brief excerpts as permitted by applicable law do not
require a commercial authorization.

3. Uses requiring separate written authorization

Unless Licensor separately authorizes the specific use in writing, You may not
use, adapt, distribute or provide the Materials or derivative works for:

(a) production use, even if internal, unpaid or operated by a nonprofit;
(b) paid training, consulting, implementation or other client deliverables;
(c) sale, resale, commercial licensing, paid bundles or commercial embedding;
(d) SaaS, managed services or hosted offerings provided to third parties,
whether charged directly or supported by a commercial business model; or
(e) operating or promoting a business using a reproduced website, course,
template library or other substantive part of the Materials.

"Production use" means use in live operations, a customer-facing service, or
actual business work, including real decisions, transactions and operational
deliverables. A controlled noncommercial learning demonstration is not
production use merely because students can access it online. Incorporating
the Materials into a pilot that performs live business work is production use.
Charging indirectly, bundling the Materials with a paid service, or renaming
or translating them does not avoid these restrictions. Permission is required
before the restricted use starts; silence is not permission.

This license does not claim ownership of ideas, facts, general methods or
skills. You remain free to apply what You learn in Your work and to create
independent implementations without copying protected expression from the
Materials. Mere similarity of business purpose does not create a derivative.

4. Notices and distribution

When sharing the Materials or derivatives, retain this license, applicable
copyright and attribution notices, and third-party notices. Identify material
changes and do not imply that a modified version is an official AIelsen
release. Apply this license to copies and derivatives of the Materials; You
must not grant recipients broader rights in them than You received. Rights
in independently authored, separable works are not restricted by this clause.
Recipients receive their permitted rights directly from the relevant Licensor.
Do not remove usage restrictions or describe this project as MIT-licensed or
as permitting unrestricted commercial use.

5. Third-party materials, branding and personal rights

Third-party dependencies, upstream component code, fonts and other separately
licensed works retain their original licenses. This license neither replaces
those licenses nor adds restrictions to rights granted by their owners. See
THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, public/licenses/ and the individual asset notices.

Third-party photographs, film frames, quotations, trademarks and linked case
materials are not sublicensed by this license. Their presence here is not a
grant to extract, redistribute or commercially reuse them. Obtain permission
from their rights holders when required. No trademark, trade-name, endorsement,
likeness, privacy or publicity rights are granted. Factual attribution to
AIelsen is allowed; using its name or logo as Your own identity is not.

6. Patents

To the extent Licensor controls patent claims necessarily infringed by its
original contribution alone, Licensor grants a non-exclusive, worldwide,
royalty-free patent license solely for the uses permitted by section 2.
No rights are granted to other claims or third-party patents. This patent
permission terminates if You bring a patent claim alleging that the Materials
or a contribution to them infringes Your patent rights.

7. Termination

These permissions terminate automatically upon a material breach. If this is
Your first breach and You cure it within 30 days after becoming aware of it,
the permissions are reinstated prospectively. Cure does not erase liability
for prior unauthorized use. Otherwise reinstatement requires Licensor's
written agreement. On termination, stop all uses not otherwise authorized by
law or a separate agreement. Sections 3-5 and 8-10 survive as applicable.
Compliant downstream recipients do not lose their permissions because of
another person's breach.

8. No warranty or professional assurance

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS"
AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, SECURITY OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. EXAMPLES
ARE EDUCATIONAL AND DO NOT CONSTITUTE A PRODUCTION READINESS CERTIFICATION,
LEGAL ADVICE OR A GUARANTEE OF BUSINESS RESULTS. NO SUPPORT IS PROMISED.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LICENSOR AND CONTRIBUTORS ARE NOT
LIABLE FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE MATERIALS OR THEIR USE, INCLUDING LOST
PROFITS, DATA LOSS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF ADVISED
OF THE POSSIBILITY. NOTHING EXCLUDES LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE
EXCLUDED OR LIMITS MANDATORY RIGHTS.

10. General

All rights not expressly granted are reserved. A separate signed commercial
agreement governs only the uses and parties it specifies. No additional
rights arise from repository visibility, a download, a contribution or a
failure to enforce these terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining
provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. No governing jurisdiction
is selected here. This English text controls; translations and FAQs are
explanatory and do not expand the grant. Contact the repository owner through
the non-sensitive process described in COMMERCIAL.md for written authorization.
